![]() It had long been my gaming New Years resolution to get into a MOBA. I'd just recommend turning off all chat if the game gives you the option.Ī few years ago I was in exactly the same boat as you. People will get mad and flame you in any of them TBH. So it's easier to get into in this regard, but these modes also won't really give you the full MOBA experience. Smite is kind of similar to LoL, but also has a bunch of alternative modes that are much easier to get into. It would be my choice if you actually wanted to get into one of the popular examples of the genre.ĭota I just find way too complicated, and it's gameplay incredibly unforgiving. But in terms of in-game gameplay, I think it's not too hard to get into, and there's a huge amount of resources to learn it online. LoL will require a lot of reading before playing, as the community there will expect you to know how the game is supposed to be played from your very first game onward. It seems kind of dead these days, but for just getting a taste of the genre it's probably okay. HoTS, at least when I played, was very easy to get into. So, what's everyone else play? What would you recommend picking up as someone who is, realistically, not going to dump massive hours into but instead play more casually? ![]() ![]() Not sure if I'm just shying away from the best games in the genre because I've heard they're hard and that people will get angry at you if you suck though, haha. I'm honestly leaning towards SMITE or Mobile Legends based on these points because they seem like they're the most accessible or casual. I hear it's actually kinda fun and has shorter games. SMITE - Plays more like an action game as you directly control the character from 3rd person.ĥ. I hear that it's good but no one plays it, I hear that it's trash, I'm really not sure.Ĥ. HoTS - This one I see mixed reviews about. Dota 2 - Even more complicated with extra layers of strategy.ģ. Here's what I've learned from research but I'm not sure if I have any misconceptions:ġ. I don't really have many friends that play them, otherwise I'd go with that, though some acquaintances play League. I always end up thinking about trying out the genre but get intimidated by how much stuff is going on and what you need to learn.
